About Stephanie
My name is Stephanie Medina, and I'm a 2016 alum of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a certificate in Latinx Mental Health Resilience. I have committed my career to engaging, mobilizing, and turning out communities of color to vote and get involved in the political process.
I have worked hands-on in Cape Town, South Africa; South Phoenix, Arizona; Kansas City, Missouri; Des Moines, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; Prince William County, Virginia; and most recently, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I have a unique understanding of Latinx voters, language accessibility, and voter engagement, across the country. I am completely fluent in Spanish (written & verbal), and have extensive experience translating campaign materials, creating scripts, engaging with and training Spanish-speaking volunteers, building Latinx-focused programs, politically organizing and managing relationships with community leaders, elected officials, candidates, and campaigns.
Most recently, I've worked as a campaign manager in swing districts for LGBTQ+ candidates. I enjoy building teams, comprised of people of color and LGBTQ+ people, empowering folks who do not typically see themselves in politics to build leadership skills and elevate them into senior level positions in campaigns and politics.
I am ready to go and have a wealth of unique experience as a former field, political and comms campaign staffer, in building Latino engagement programs that are language accessible and culturally competent.
I'm committed to building community power and I can't wait to keep doing this work!
